Do you have any old baskets stored in your garage that you wish to get rid of at a yard sale or place in the garbage? Well, don't do that because those baskets can be revitalized! You can easily renovate them, and then use them as bathroom organizers. In addition, you can fill in wasted space giving you additional room to store other bathroom items in your cabinets.
Were there any old shelves that made it into your garage sale? Did anyone buy them, or are they back in your garage? If they didn't sell either, start checking out what you can do with your bathroom walls and let the creative side of your mind kick in.
Most likely the shelves will need a new coat of paint before you start building your organizer. Any type of paint, including flat paint is acceptable. Spray the shelves, allow them dry, and then spray paint the shelves again. If the wood is broken, chipped, etc, you will need to sand first.
Any extra ceramic, enamel, or paint of any kind that you have out in the garage will work well. When the shelves have dried, check them over and choose if you wish to feature something more to them, but do not over do it.
Be sure that the colors that you choose will coordinate well with the theme you already have in the room. If you want more color to your shelves, use another color and stamp or maybe draw a design on it, painting it to your desired color.
Choose the area where you'd like to hang your shelves, and mount them when they are completely dry. I like to skater them so they aren't all in a row. How you hang them will be determined by how much space you have allocated for this organizer. When you have decided on where you want the shelves, and the look that you are trying to achieve with your shelves, then it is safe to hang them.
Now you have created extra space and need to put something attractive on them. Keep in mind again here you need to be artistic using baskets can be fun. Baskets can offer so many different sizes, shapes, and colors, so be sure to place them in ways they compliment each other and you like how they look.
Don't forget to use your imagination and revive those old baskets into something unique. Baskets are nice to use because they are easy to wash, just wash them with warm soapy water and let dry. The bathroom moisture is good for them it helps keep them from drying out.
And if for any reason you don't like them as they are, just start decorating them as well. You'll be able to paint baskets and decorate simply like you did your shelves. Go ahead the paint won't hurt and when finished just get the clear color spray can out and spray them to set the colours in.
Stamps, stickers, and similar decorations will freshen up your baskets nicely, much like your creativity worked with the shelves. Your bathroom accessories will have guests talking about it, and you'll have more space in your bathroom as well as being proud of your hard work.
When the shelves are mounted and the baskets are ready, you can begin using those baskets to hold a myriad of items that will then give you more space in cabinets. Use one of your newly decorated baskets for all that nail care stuff you have in a bag in the cupboard.
